Nana is here!

It rained AGAIN today. But it was a misty rain, we went out this morning - I couldn't have another day stuck in the apartment! So I decided to go check out the local library. I put the kids in the trailer and rode the bike, in the light rain.

The library was nice. They had a very nice children's section, although the English book section was very very small. But it was interesting that they also had (in the children's section), an Urdu section, a Somali section, and a few other languages that definitely reflects the diversity of the population here. Even though there weren't many books for the kids to enjoy, they had a good time playing with some toys at the library. What was also great was that you could not only borrow books and CD/DVDs, but also toys, games and puzzles! So we came home with a few English books and a game and a couple of puzzles, which we get to keep for 4 weeks - pretty much the entire length of our stay!

And we had a very exciting event this afternoon. Yes, my mom (or Nana, to the kids) was arriving from Japan to stay with us for two weeks! So we went to the airport to pick her up. Well, we don't have a car here, so we took the bus there (pretty easy as we live relatively close to the airport), and took a taxi back. We had a nice Eel on Rice (うな丼)dinner which my mom brought, and Ahh, it tasted so good! I enjoyed every bite of it... And Mio was beside herself having Nana at home. Looking forward to having a fun two weeks with her.
